Governance & Compliance

The Roger Sherman Institute of Technology (RSIT)™ does not issue credentials — it engineers them. Every certification, diploma, and Master's degree in the Sherman Pathways ecosystem is anchored in a dual-jurisdiction regulatory framework spanning the European Higher Education Area, the UK Regulated Qualifications Framework, and emerging global AI governance standards.

Bologna Process EQF Level 7 Ofqual Regulated ISO 42001 Aligned EU AI Act Ready RQF Level 7
⚠ EU AI Act Full Enforcement: August 2, 2026 RSIT certifications satisfy EU AI Act Article 4 AI Literacy requirements. Our governance credentials qualify practitioners to oversee high-risk AI systems across all Annex III domains — in organizations subject to EU jurisdiction worldwide.

The Regulatory Stack

Our dual-jurisdiction approach ensures that every credential issued through Sherman Pathways is recognized across Europe, the UK, and globally.

European Higher Education Area (EHEA)

Through our alliances with UCAM (Spain) and UTAMED (EU), our Master's degrees are aligned with the Bologna Process — ensuring transferability of credits (ECTS) and recognition across all 49 member countries. Graduates are positioned for doctoral admission at any Bologna-compliant institution worldwide.

Bologna Compliant EQF Level 7 60 ECTS 49 Countries

UK Regulated Qualifications (RQF)

Our diploma curriculum is mapped to Ofqual-regulated standards via OTHM Qualifications — a recognized UK Awarding Organization. This provides learners with a direct progression pathway to British doctoral research, chartered professional status, and employment recognition across the UK and Commonwealth.

Industry Governance Standards

Beyond academia, RSIT curriculum is engineered to comply with ISO 42001 (AI Management Systems), the EU AI Act (Articles 4, 9, 13, 72), and the NIST AI Risk Management Framework. Practitioners graduate not just credentialed — but compliance-ready for deployment in regulated AI environments.

EQF Level 7 Alignment

The European Qualifications Framework (EQF) acts as a translation device for learning innovation across 49 EHEA member countries. Our Master's degrees are structured at Level 7 — denoting highly specialized knowledge, critical awareness at the boundaries of a field, and the capacity to manage and transform complex professional contexts.

EQF Level 7 is universally recognized as the gateway to Level 8 (Doctoral) programs, professional chartered status, and senior leadership roles in regulated industries.

Level 7 Master's / Postgraduate

ECTS Credit Transfer

The European Credit Transfer and Accumulation System (ECTS) is the standard framework that allows students and professionals to move between countries and institutions with their qualifications recognized. A standard Sherman Pathways Master's degree awards 60 ECTS credits — universally recognized for doctoral admission across all Bologna Process member institutions.

RSIT certifications are each mapped to 6 ECTS, meaning a bundle of 10 certifications in a single compliance domain constitutes a complete Master's degree pathway.

ISO 42001 & EU AI Act Compliance

ISO/IEC 42001 is the international standard for AI Management Systems — the organizational framework that governs how AI is developed, deployed, and monitored responsibly. Our curriculum is directly mapped to its control objectives, making RSIT-certified practitioners immediately deployable in ISO 42001-certified or pursuing organizations.

The EU AI Act's Article 4 requires AI literacy for personnel working with high-risk AI systems. RSIT certifications are structured to satisfy that requirement — with domain-specific tracks covering each of the Annex III high-risk use case categories.
